lq4 with ls3 top end questions

Thumbs up lq4 with ls3 top end questions

I am a newby to forum and looking for advice or constructive criticsm. building ls 67 chevelle with sons and have questions . have stock 2004 lq 4 shortblock with new ls3 heads, holley singleplane efi intake, 1000cfm throttle body , dougs 1 3/4 long tubes ,upgraded trunions,stock behive springs.I impulse bought a new comp cam thinking I will go to boost when i can afford some forged bottom end pieces( arp rod bolts are all i have done so far). specs on cam are 269/293 adv.duration 116 lobe sep,.581/.612 lift. the lobe profile are 3720R and 3732R. any advice as to durability on LS7 lifters and upgraded springs or bite bullet and get another cam. car is 32oo lb street driver with 4L80E and 3:73gears. want to use as cruiser with a/c . Is cam too much ? thanks

Ls7 Lifters and dual springs will work just keep in mind you'll need to change springs every 20000 miles or so

You have a camshaft and intake manifold mismatch. That camshaft is design to work with the factory style long runner intake manifold. If you are determined to keep that single plane intake for the old school look, have a look at this camshaft:

This cam will make some strong power, but will need good rear gears, a high stall converter(3000+) or a manual trans. You also need to get good valve springs. Tick will make sure you get the correct springs. If you want a milder cam, just contact Martin at Tick or Brian at Brian Tooley Racing and tell them your combo.

Do you have the @.050" duration for this camshaft by chance?

Went with a Tick speced by Martin with BTR springs. Anyone want a blower cam for discount price? 250 shipped
