There is a whole thread on the subject at

Vararam is coming out with an "affordable" version fairly soon.

IMHO the problem with the NRE X-ram would be the heat soaking properties of the aluminum. There is a lot of aluminum in that intake. One way to get around it would be using thermal barrier coatings. However in a drag race situation it would be OK.
The Vararam version is made out of a type of plastic and has much better heat barrier properties.

I don't even want to know how much that Xram costs...
But I don't think you will see similar deltas between a FAST intake and the XRam on a stock cube LS1/2...if the motor is only asking for "A" cubic inches of air and the intake can supply 3xA amount of air then the intake is a waste of money.
Like he said in the video, that's a 496 8.1L motor LOL. So a "off the shelf" FAST intake may be a bottleneck.

I don't see the intake being in the same price range as a FAST...I'm guessing $1200+
The added price PLUS needing a bigger cube motor to benefit from it will kill the selling ability of it. The FAST is good because you can toss it on a stock motor and see a benefit.
