LQ408 injector questions
LQ408 injector questions What is a good injector to run on a 408 stroker? Basic 408 sporting ls3 heads and a fast 102 and TB looking to make around 550hp. I am just looking for suggestions from others with more experience.

Well I'm running a 408 stroker, Ls3 heads, ls3 intake, 102mm tb and turning up to 7k rpm. I'm running 42lb GTP Injectors. Still working on the tune and dialing things in but it appears with my cam and spinning at 7k I'm close to 90% IDC with it being on the rich side. Once I lean the AFR to a normal range I expect my IDC to be about 80 to 85%.
Fueling requirements depend on several factors. How high an rpm your going to spin the motor. What the motors Volumetric efficiency is. Any power adders (boost or nitrous if dry shot). There are formula's you can use to deduce fueling needs based on estimated horsepower. In fact here's a link to one http://www.promracing.com/injector.php this is assuming flywheel horsepower which I'm guessing is what you mean by 550hp. If your referring to rear wheel horsepower then you have to understand flywheel is going to be a higher number depending on drive train. Typically 15% for manual, and 20% for automatic is the typical estimates.
