Yes he did. And really it looked horrible. But it did pick up which is all that matters. But the guy also changed other things. Meziere water pump, new velocity stack intake setup, cat delete. So not apples to apples. Very interesting concept tho...

would be great if the shorter runners would support 7500 RPM while not killing everything below 3k

Weird. I didn't lose anything going from a br7ef to a b8es

Lol for real. I would give up 20/20 or even more down low, if I could pick up the same up top. It's nice having a lot of bottom end just tooling around town, but for me, peak horsepower is what I'm after. Or whatever gets me to the finish line faster.

Could you post a graph please? Did you try turning over 7k?

I would too. Losing 20 down low compared to extending your rpm by 200-300 would be a fine trade.

Higher average horsepower will get you down the track faster than higher peak every time

New article. Looks like they've done some testing:

I really hope they start selling the FAST intakes with the choice of runner length here soon. I'm waiting on purchasing one because I want the FAST 102mm intake with the medium length runners. I think that's just what my current setup needs and will help me make a lot more HP past 6,000 RPM's.

There is no helpful information provided by FAST here...as long as the overlay long runner power curve vs. mid and short is not available.

Why is that major info missing?

The article also says it is a 6.0 LS7 yet the article also says the new runners are exclusively for square port heads....

"The testbed engine featured on the dyno in this video is a 6.0-liter LS7 with a stock crank but Lunati H-beam rods and pistons"

Probably a typo. The guys that write this stuff rarely get everything 100% accurate.

I spoke to those dudes about two weeks ago and they do make the "race runners" they call them. They are the short one BUT it's only for LS3 manifolds. They also said for now there isn't a budget for research on the LS1,2 or 7,
I think they want to see the demand on the LS3 first.
If I recall correctly they claim an extra 15hp gain from regular runners.
You can buy just the runners for like $350.
call em: F.A.S.T. = RHS = Comp Cam (all are the same company)

To get 6.0 liters the engine needs to be destroked if you want to rev it that high, not the other way around...

Destroking a LS7 is pretty common when you are chasing a power band between 6000 to 9500 rpm.

That's not 100% true. Most of the fastest all motor cars have a 4" crank or larger and they spin 9k+. The destroked engines are usually restricted to a cubic inch limit.
