random misfire after intake/exhaust install
After the install, as I was driving home I the car went very rich (at least 10:1 afr) and white smoke came out of the exhaust. this happened every time I gave it more than a marginal amount of pedal. I got home and went over everything and found that the nipple from the fresh air port to the intake tube was blocked. On the K&N intake tube you have to drill out the brass insert or it blocks off.
Could this be my problem, and if so what else might it have damaged. I haven't driven it since i got it to my garage.
I did replace the wires and plugs since the engine felt like it was missing and found some slightly fouled plugs, but nothing I felt would have done that.
It's throwing a p0300 and p1174 code so I am thinking i am looking at a fueling issue since the plugs and wires did nothing. I disconnected the swirl pot and bosch 044 and ran the engine straight off the lifter pump which is a DW300. I still ran into the issue, although possibly not as severe. I then bypassed the FPR and reinstalled the flow limiter to run the DW300 to see if maybe I have a bad FPR. Its a corvette filter/regulator so it going bad would not surprise me. The idle was slightly rich and the car drove better( again this might be in my head) which would make sense since the flow restrictor would limit the pressure to somewhere around 65 to 70psi. I've got another regulator on the way and hopefully thats it.
I also rang out the injectors and each was around 17.2 warm +/- .2 ohms.
If its not the regulator i'm really at a loss here. Any ideas?
