Is MAF necessary? My first LS swap into 33 ford street rod. I'm running out of room and was wondering if I can eliminate the Mass air flow sensor and use the Map only? 2006 6.0 with the holley ram manifold and I am using the Painless harness to wire it. If I have to I may have enough room but it is very cramped and would look much cleaner without it. Thanks in advance, 33coupe
The MAF's biggest selling point is that at WOT it is VERY accurate compared to SD. Not using a MAF will hinder a cars ability to adjust for big swings in weather. Not a huge deal in Aus :-p.
I'd imagine your rod will be a summer car so I'd have no issue running SD. I say delete it.
