EVAP Purge Valve Question (PO443 DTC)
I’ve got a CEL that is a PO443 (which is a circuit, not vacuum error). I replaced the EVAP Purge Valve (cheap) but the light came right back. So, after a little investigation, I discovered the control wire is showing constant ground. Only by unplugging the ECM can I get the ground to drop so I can only assume the driver went bad in the ECM for some reason. I have a HPTuners programmer so I can program the car to ignore the fault until I can replace the ECM but was curious if I should leave it plugged in (and always on & pulling vacuum) or unplug the valve so it’s just benign.
This is strictly a track car. I've even considered pulling all the emission stuff out but now that congress may dictate this must stay , I'm considering fixing it completely.
Thanks for your input.
Tom
