LS7 complete engine and trans $2500?
LS7 complete engine and trans $2500? So a friend of my neighbor says his that friend has a LS7 motor and Trans from his wrecked Vette for $2500. I'm just looking for a little guidance if this is valid and the motor is in good shape. I just rebuilt my LS1 and now I have the fever!
The first questions to ask, what year is the Corvette? That price would be more in line with an LS1 combo. Also, is the trans an auto or manual? Many who are not LS Tech people are easily confused by all the numbers.

The LS7 never came with an auto until now, C7 and if its complete and turns over, has compression in all cylinders and isn't way over in miles it would be a good deal, if you have to rebuild it to get it working, maybe not so much... you call the block alone if good has a great foundation for a build, longer skirts for stroker build and you have a good crank and block to begin a rebuild with at the very least... always follow what your gut tells you and have fun!

Unless all the internals of those are completely destoryed, that is an awesome deal. Even if it's not running or needs work, the parts separately are worth more than that. If the engine turns over by hand and you can spin the transmission without hearing any noises you better jump on that.

Good info Exactly right, wasn't thinking about the new engine package, just that they have a new trans in automatic for the C7..
That's still not a bad price depending on miles and condition.
A complete LS2 with heads intake accessories is easily in the 1500-2000 range. The transmission depending on what is is can be anywhere from 5-1000 and the harness is a couple hundro also.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I have an LS7 and I didn't have much time so I let Engine World Inc in Houston rebuild it for me. They actually import JDM engines but they also rebuild LS motors big time. Here is their website http://www.bestjapaneseengines.com/
