Default LS7 Rebuild

I am thinking about rebuilding my LS7 to handle a bigger shot of nitrous. I am currently at about 600whp with HCI on just motor. I am setup to run nitrous and I have been running a 125 shot at 1/2 and 1/4 miles events without issue. I am pulling time and also running a stand alone tank with C16 when spraying, using a Nitrous Outlet plate and Maximizer 4.

This car is mostly street driven but I go to a half dozen events a year including some road racing.

I am thinking about keeping the TI rods and LS7 crank and replacing the pistons to handle a larger shot, say 250 to 300. I will probably only run this amount of nitrous at 1/2 mile events 2 to 3 times a year. Otherwise the motor will see mostly just N/A.

There are a handful of off the shelf pistons specifically designed for the LS7 rods and some use 4032 and most use 2618. I would like to stick with the 4032 piston if it can handle the amount of nitrous that I am planning on running at 1/2 events.

My compression is currently at about 11.5 and I am planning on staying around there with the new pistons because I street drive on 93.

Thoughts?

rolling the dice with stock sleeves on a big shot.

Send it to R.E.D. for resleeve and then happily spray it! http://www.raceenginedevelopment.com/

93 octane can easily handle 12.25:1..... for spraying nitrous you should be on 100+ octane for safety buffer.

The sleeve are the weak point as said above.

We carry the mahle powerpak nee design ls7 pistons. They would work and have a brand new ring pack. File fit them accordingly and have no issues!

Let me know if you are interested

I ended up buying a new Darton Sleeved block from Texas Speed and CP Carrillo pistons to use with the LS7 TI Rods and Crank. Increasing ci to 430 and using ARP rod bolts and mains. I also had Calico Coatings coat the piston tops and skirts and switching to GM COPO lifters.
