Default First start, loping at idle?

Hi guys,
installed my first LS motor and everything so far has been great. 2005 Tahoe motor, 65k miles and internals look clean. I started it and let it run to operating temp but after initial warm up, the idle is rough. It stays running, but it’s very lopey like it’s got a crazy cam in it and it’s stock. I’m running shorty headers (open) with no exhaust setup yet. The O2 sensors aren’t hooked up, could this be the problem, or a vacuum leak somewhere?

Thank you!

That IS the problem. Once warmed up it goes into closed loop which activates the O2 sensors.
