5.3 Power Wiring Questions
I am getting closer and closer to wiring up my engine, and I had a few questions I hoped you guys might be able to answer. The engine is a 2007 58x 5.3 out of a Tahoe. I am running the factory wiring harness and fuse box, and plan to eliminate the connectors and sub-harnesses I don't need.
My first question is this, in the starting system schematic (see below) it shows the positive cable from the battery running to a 175A Mega Fuse block. This portion of wiring did not come with my harness. Is this mega fuse needed for my application? The reason I ask is because when looking at some of these stand alone harnesses I don't see this fuse anywhere? Also there are two notes under this portion of the schematic that reference 6.6L's. This leads me to believe that this fuse is not applicable to my 5.3 application.
My Second question is regarding the power coming into the fuse block, and where it lands. I have looked all over for pictures or schematics showing where and how the power is terminated at the fuse block. Unfortunately I can't find anything that makes sense to me. The fuse block I have has two screw post terminals on the side (see below). Is this where the power lands on the fuse block, and what is the difference between the two terminals?
As always I greatly appreciate your guys help.
Thanks,
Andrew
Can't answer #2. I have an aftermarket wiring kit installed.

I believe one of the wires from the 4 way terminal bar goes to my fuse block, 1 to an aux fuse block that has 4 relays (fans, fuel, & ?).
