Default Fast 102

New to the site have a few questions. I have a bone stock ls2 all aluminum 6.0 swapped in my 66 suburban. So a friend of mine is giving me a fast 102 intake .is it worth while to install with factory throttle body. Cause i dont want to spend the $600-$800 on a 102 mm dbw throttle body. IN A PERFECT WORLD I WOULD LIKE TO INSTALL THE FAST WITH STOCK THROTTLE BODY AND A STAGE 1 CAM. WORTH WHILE or wasting money if I don' do the thrttle body. And go

With a stock engine and stock throttle body, you won't see much if any difference between manifolds.

Yeah, a fast 102 makes a good difference on even a Stock ls2

Yeah. There’s several aspects to an intake design which dictate its efficacy. Plenum volume and location, runner volume, length and flow and TB size. And to an extent injector location.

The factory LS2 design is a decent concept. But the manufacturing of it was junk. Guys have picked up nearly 20 rwhp with a fast 102 on a bolt on ls2. Its probably one of the Stock LS that needs an intake the most

Yeah, I forgot how bad the LS2 manifold was. It would be a different story with an LS6 manifold....

I never dynoed it but my VVE needed to be bumped up in the midrange when I swapped a fast 102 onto my wife's bone stock ls2. You could feel it in the midrange. Stock ls2 cam is poop but that's a diff story.

I would never put an LS6 manifold on an LS2. better construction, yes, but i highly doubt it would gain on the stock manifold, especially not over 6k. The LS2 supposedly was designed to be a better intake than the LS6, but the 3-piece construction and lousy joint sealing/matching killed it. Had they made it with the same lost core process as the LS6, it probably would have done a lot better. I think the LS2 can really utilize the 90mm intake opening.

As big hammer said, I think a few folks have shown gains switching to a FAST on a bolt-on LS2 setup. I think a few guys have gotten close to 400whp w/ bolt-ons. On a stock LS1, i doubt it matters much, but LS2 has more displacement, better heads, and a far more decent stock cam.

i remember when ported LS2 manifolds were a big deal maybe 7-8 years ago, lol.

and injector location has me a little worried. I am already using fr0d injectors that i know are painting part of the port wall instead of the intake valve. i know it doesn't matter as much as GM designers once believed it did, but i'm sure now with the FAST 102 on my LS1 that it's even worse. The taller injector has to be screwing up the angle.

debating to switch to a shorter LS2 style injector and EV1-EV6 adapters... we'll see how it does after i tune it.

I'm searching out a nice stage one cam to compliment the fast intake aswell
