Hello, I have a l76 with some cylinder damage (08 VMAX truck), instead of tearing into right now, I've found a 5.3 for a pretty decent price. I was told its from an 08 truck but I haven't got the code yet. My question is how much would be interchangeable between the two?

• Will the computer run it, or would it need to be changed out?
• flywheel changed or mounting to the 4l70?
• accessories bolt the same?

Everything will bolt right up. As long as its a 07+ 5.3.

u do need to check for dod, vvt etc. If your current engine has these the 5.3 needs to match it. If u have access to a tuner he can disable the dod crap.

If the 5.3 had a grey crank sensor and front cam sensor it will work for sure.
