LS1 to LS3 Swap Questions
LS1 to LS3 Swap Questions Hey all,
I've got a Mazda RX-7 that had an LS1 in it with a large cam (Tsunami). Long story short I spun a rod bearing, so rather than go through the hassle of rebuilding the LS1 I went ahead and got an LS3 that's being built right now (full rebuild with stage 3 cam kit).
I've already got the LS3 intake, injectors, injector adapters, LS3 MAF, the engine builder will handle the 24x reluctor wheel, I'm going to reuse the F-Body oil pan with Improved Racing baffle, reuse my Monster Stage 3 clutch (getting a new pressure plate though), reuse my coil packs, reuse valve covers.
Has anyone had any luck with the Racetronix LS2/3 knock sensor adapters or do you recommend anything else?

Other than this all I need is the Casper CEI-109081 adapter to extend my cam sensor to the timing cover and it's smooth sailing right?

I use those knock sensor adapters to run ls3 knock sensors on my 04 gto, went into the tune and change the knock sensor settings to match my 2010 camao, but it still doesn't register any knock... like not one time. Makes me think they aren't functioning.
I just installed the LS1 style knock sensors on the side of the LS3 when I did my swap in my old C5 years back. I just used extensions and never had an issue. Just tap the existing holes on the block since the old style sensors are a bit bigger.
I wouldn't mind doing that, but my engine is in a Mazda Rx-7. The long tubes I've got are hugging the block pretty close. It's a pretty tight fit.
Would you mind posting your tune settings for the knock sensors using the LS1 computer and LS1 knock sensors on an LS3 block?
