Piston Help
Can anyone help guide me on the correct piston to choose for my LS3 build? I am looking to at the very least stay at stock compression but thinking about goinig up to 11:1. IS negative numbers best for boosting compression or is positive? I am using the Wallaceracing compression calculator but have been told the the piston values should be reversed. any guidance with this would be most appreciated.
You gotta be careful of how the piston CCs are advertised as I’ve seen them listed both ways. For instance, if you look at a dished piston it may be listed as a -15cc but in reality it will net +CC to your combustion chamber. And another manufacturer may list the same sized dish piston as +15cc (this is the correct meothod IMO).
In general, a dished piston will add combustion chamber volume. A domed position will decrease combustion chamber volume. And a flat top piston will net a 0cc change. But it’s best to verify with the specific piston mfr.
