Bigger MAF for LS3 in 4Th Gen
Im running a new LS3 in my WS6 and need a bigger MAF....Im also running a Nick Williams 92mm TB....What MAF is everyone using on this setup? Thinking about running the bottle on it in the near future and my current LS1 MAF is a bottle neck on airflow...

no maf is the biggest maf.
But if you insist anyway, there is a 100mm version courtesy of the ls7

Convert the LS1 MAF and IAT to LS7 card style, although you're most likely not at the point of maxed out MAF signal.

I don't know how much the LS1 MAF will flow or its limits...Tuner just said that was my bottleneck. Its over 500 at the wheels on a Mustang Dyno, and I plan to spray 100-150 on it...

I understand MAF functions are far more deeply imbedded in Gen IV ECM's than Gen III, which still relied a lot on SD tuning even with MAF active. So I would think it would be more difficult to eliminate MAF from an LS3 ECM than with a Gen III ECM.

Nah, it's not so bad. Fail the maf. The vector-based VE is the tricky part. But you can use the VVE to recalculate all the coefficients. It really isn't hard. Set the scanner up just like doing VE on the GenIII controller. Most people did maf only on gen IV controllers, because the VVE is a relatively new HPTuners feature. it was easier to kill the VVE and go maf only.

it's more about the difference in frequency registered by the larger maf. Going from an LS to an 85mm to an ls7 in a 4 inch tube progressively lowers the frequency that the maf sends to the pcm. This allows for more hp before the internal hardcoded limit in the pcm is hit.
