Plugging the heater hose connectors
I don't run a heater in my 55 which has an LS 3
I'd like to clean up the area where the 2 heater hose connectors are coming out of the water pump. Rather than loop it I'd like to eliminate the 2 connectors and block off the holes
These connectors are pressed in
Whats the best method to remove the connectors?
Then whats best to cover the holes?

Fortunately they're not in the "block". They're in the water pump.
I'd recommend flattening them with pliers or a punch or something and pulling them out (assuming you have the sheet metal ones). Then tap the holes to a convenient pipe thread and use brass plugs.

There is no consensus as to whether the heater hoses should be looped or if they can be blocked off. People have blocked them off with no apparent ill effects.
Once you pull the hose nipples out, you will find the holes are perfectly sized for 3/8 and 1/2 NPT taps.
