Default Problem installing converter ly6 / 4l80e

Hey guys I'm in the middle completing a LY6 / 4L80E swap into my 70 Chevelle. My plan was to use the original flex plate but upon installing the transmission with my new FTI converter, once the transmission is bolted up to the motor the converter is so tight against the flexplate you can't turn it. I've spoken to FTI and they say there converters are made to be used with dished style flexplates. I'm assuming thats not what is on mine stock. I've attached a picture of my flexplate, I've also verified all the measurements to ensure they are correct and the converter is fully seated. Should I just order an aftermarket flexplate from Summit?

Converter made to fit w/ a center engine plate? If so, the drive lugs would be longer.
