analog gauge question

Default analog gauge question

I want to run a analog water temp gauge on my L92. It looks like a electrical unit is the way to go due to the metric threaded hole on the right rear cylinder head area. Any recommendations? Thanks, Jeff

There are numerous adapters for the water port to adapt the metric threads to 1/16 or 1/8 NPT.

Correct, I have a set of steward warner guages that are anlog on my 414. water temp sending unit is in the passenger side head with an adapter i sourced mine through a local hardware store i think, but a quick search on ebay and found this. id keep the factory one on the drive side as I believe its still used for the fan relays unless you are doing something with that as well.

I just bought the SW sending unit with the correct threads. It works a lot better than using an adapter. Just a FYI...

The drivers side block plug can be tapped for larger sender, used it on my 68 vette with original sender.

there is also that, dont think that existed back in the early 2000's when i built mine. Good info to have though as I have another one of those type swaps coming up.
