Default Engine bay fuse box

I purchased a doner truck and everything under the hood looked untouched, so I did an amature move and didn't go over everything. Got it home and realized someone had took the fuse box. Do I have to get one from another 2008 2500 Rwd ? Or will others fit ?

What are you going to be using it for?
If you're just going to put the drivetrain in another vehicle, I wouldn't even bother with the big, ugly truck fuse box.

I am using a 4th Gen Firebird fuse box on my build; many GM cars used this same box with variations throughout the '90s and early '00s.

You can see how I did it here.

Well ,. I'm using the 6l90 transmission too so I was hoping to keep the whole thing in tact. Its going in a 1964 Galaxie 500XL. And the guy that's removing the vats wants to do that in the truck . Heck I cant even see how many miles is on the thing without that stupid fuse box hooked up.

****, that's probably going to need communication with the BCM, too (thanks a lot for tying that B/S in with the powertrain, GM!); I can't say for sure, because I've never played around with the 6L__ transmissions.

Kind of a long shot, but do you know anyone with a GMT 900 truck that would let you "borrow" their fuse box for a short time?

The whole thing pops out in less than two minutes.

The salvage yards around here only charge 75 -125 bucks so I dont mind buying one , I just need to know if it had to be for a 2500hd 2wd or will a 1500 work the same.

ahhhhhh, just googled GMT 900 , I get it now. So as long as the box is from this platform it will work ?

Largely so, yes. There are a few deatils that vary but the general year range should get you close. The closer you can come to parts that match what you already have, the better your chances.

The truck fuse box may be big and ugly but you can cut off parts of it you don't need, and maybe fab up some sort of enclosure for the part you do need.

Also, I STONGLY recommend you buy the FSM for the truck your poop came out of. They're DIRT CHEEEEEEEEEP on ebay: like, $15 or so for THE WHOLE THING on CD. INCLUDING wiring diagrams. Worth its weight in gold. In fact, I'd say it's worth its weight in purest virgin nonobtanium, even if all of that you can find locally is alloyed with trace quantities of interstellar ejected-planet irreplacium. GET IT.
