Dipstick tube stuck in block

Was putting headers on my buddies 08 Silverado and the dipstick tube broke flush with block, I've searched around and tried everything short of tapping the rest of the tube into the oil pan and removing the oil pan. What's my best option to get this fixed?

Find a piece of very stiff wire, bend a very sharp hook into it, enough so it will slip down the tube, and see if you can pull the tube out. I just thought of, do not know if it works.

Well, nothing we tried work, even the hook method, couldn't get anything stiff enough. Put a small bolt and washer over it to keep it from leaking and drove it the shop, gonna let them mess with it. Hopefully that won't be an expensive endeavor.

I wouldn't do that. Who knows what the hell they'll do and leave in the oil pan.

Ain't that the damn truth, it's why my car doesn't ever see a shop. But ultimately it's not my decision since it's not my truck.

You could try a greased self-tapping sheet metal screw to get it out. Carefully thread it in and use a slap-hammer or a vice grip pliers to pull it out.

Would it be an issue to punch it into the oil pan? Isn't there a screen on the pump to prevent it from getting sucked up into the oil pump?

Might land on the windage tray.

If there's line of sight from oil drain plug to oil dipstick hole, then you might be able to catch that sucker with a strong stick magnet. But catching something on a magnet is a pretty good trick.
