Hot Start Issue
So this has been going on for a while. Symptoms are as follows:
Cold-starts right up
Hot- turn off then restart within 30sec-min starts right up
Hot- anytime after a min or so it flat out won’t start back up
(Cranks but won’t fire)
I just got the engine back together and it seems to have got much worse then before. Used to be it would start after a few tries but now it won’t.
My tuner said it happened on the dyno and he put a jump box on it and it started, thinking maybe voltage was just a little low. I have not been able to get that to work. I’m stumped and really frustrated, any ideas? Thanks

Your saying “start” meaning, turning over, or cranking, or it turns over fine, just won’t fire? I’m ASSuming you mean it won’t turn over when it gets hot, which points to either the starter motor is getting too hot from exhaust/header heat, or you have too much ignition timing at start-up in the car, and it can’t spin it over when it gets warm. OR...it could be an alternator/charging/battery issue and it’s affected by engine heat somehow. Have you had the battery checked for a dead cell/voltage? Sometimes that shows up more when warm.
