hidden treasure possibly hey fellas got a quick question i bought a 08 LS3 Vette and was told by the guy who owned before the guy i bought it from said he had a cam and ported heads on the car now the guy i bought it from said he had the motor rebuilt and took out the AHP cam so would the tuner know if the car had ported heads or not? hope im explaining this correctly lol
Was the tuner the engine builder too? Usually with ported heads work has been done to the runners and combustion chambers and with that being said, if you have a tiny bore scope you could pull a spark plug and take a look inside to see.

A tuner that uses log files will get it right or at least close, porting or no; such a tune will be based off of the engine's ACTUAL air flow. One that just slaps something together based on whatever you tell him and takes your money, maybe not so much.

I dont think the tuner would be able to tell - from the tuning needs - if the heads were ported or not.
The tuner may ask if the heads are ported, but they should tune to best power - regardless if heads are ported or not. The engine will flow as much air as its capable ( ported heads or not), tuner will lay down air fuel and timing based on that.
Agree. If you just wanna know, pull the intake, without knowing who ported the heads or flow bench data, it not a measurable data point.
