A few stupid questions..
The engine is converted from dod.
First stupid question:
I assume That all I have to do to convert it, is change the cam and lifters, and add the valley cover that blocks off the oil passages. Please someone confirm this.
Secondly. The cam sensor that comes with the LS4 stands straight up. I need one that turns at 90 degrees, so it’ll fit behind the Camaro water pump I’m using . Are all cam sensors for a 1x cam sprocket the same?
Lastly, I purchased this barbell “kit” online. It came with the barbell ( which fits) a hold down to secure the oil pump pick up tube, ( self explanatory) and some restrictor plug. No instructions provided, so I have no idea where it goes, and if I should even use it. Can someone enlighten me?
Cam sensor- Use one for 4th gen Camaro LS1
Barbell "kit"- These are individual pieces that do not really relate to each other other than being used on the oil system.
- Barbell subs for the OEM plastic one. Simple as that.
- Pickup tube clamp. Self explanatory; just adds the "other" bolt to further clamp the tube. Sort of a "belt-and-suspenders" piece.
- Restrictor plug. Call the supplier on this one. Unless you got these parts from SacCity Corvette, they are copies of parts they invented. So buyer beware....
