Default oil pan dran tee?

i need to add a remote oil fill. i was thinking of installing a tee in the current oil pan location and using that instead of having to weld a bung in the oil pan. any reason this wont work?

I am ls swapping a Cayman and wont have access tot he valve covers without removing panels, etc., which is not very convenient. i am trying to use teh existing oil fill location, it is the same height or lower than where the top of the valve cover will be so i have to find another location for the oil to drain into.

Trying to fill oil up thru the drain will take FOREVER.
If you've jumped thru all the hoops needed to swap an LS into a Cayman, welding a fitting onto the oil pan shouldn't be a big deal.

lol, yes,
it wasnt for filling, just topping off if needed between changes. the line would be a 12AN, so a 3/4 line.. i would think it would be as fast as the same size line connected to a bung in the side of the oil pan.

and honestly its not that big of a leap to ls swap the Cayman.... those 3.4 flat motors are HUGE... there's tons of room in the engine bay from side to side.. a small amount of trimming and fab work on the firewall to accommodate the length is all.. otherwise the rest are redially available kits.

OR, look into a dipstick kit from Lokar. They make kits for just about anything.
EDIT- Never mind this. I got mixed up on what we were discussing. You're looking for a good oil fill method, not a dipstick... DOH!!
