Default Throttle body on msd atomic question

I scored an MSD atomic intake for a great price. My question is about Throttle body size…

the nick Williams is $500 OUCH

a factory 78mm 3 bolt is the cost do an adapter plate as I have it already.

the question is how much power do you suspect I will loose with the factory 78mm vs the nick Williams piece? Will this be mid range top end or both ?

This is a rebuild ls6 349cu with 3.917 bore factory stroke ~10.8:1 231/242 .617"/.592" 112+2 cam

I need drive by cable and I am not intreated in dicking around so my options are limited…

That intake makes most of its power in the higher rpms and would most definitely benefit from a larger tb. The smaller one will choke it off. There are a bunch of holley 102mm copies out there that are very affordable especially if you have a cable style. If its dbw then you need to spend the $$ on the NW as its your only option.

that cam is also far from ideal for that intake manifold, your leaving alot of power on the table

Thanks for the reply.
My valvetrain will spin to 7200. The rods are brand new, nothing fancy just summit parts that claim to be good for 7500.

As far as the cheap DBC TB's they are mostly all hit or miss on the QC side of things.
The Holley, Fast, and the like all get lots of bad reviews they have tuning and idle issues.

I did see a Nick Williams for 400 at the summit, but at that price, I don't know if ill be getting much over the ls6 I already have based on your comment about the cam.
The cam comment makes me think I should just stick with the LS6 I already have...
I don't know if the cam will make power past 7k. on the last motor it was in it fell off at 6800, I have dynos showing it, so I figured an intake might help extend that.

Accufab is known for making quality TB's. I have a 90mm Holley billet with taper. It drives nice on the street.

Warr makes quality USA cable driven throttle bodies... Better quality than anything in the Holley Sniper lineup for under $200.
