Default Torque settings on these?

Couple questions about a new longblock LS3 (Corvette/CTS-V):

-What's the torque setting on the engine block temp sensor (image below) on the driver side near cylinder 1?

-What is the small star-wrench plug near cylinder 8 (image below)? Since it's finger-tight, what's its torque setting?

People torque those???????
Just get them snug...
The temp sensor should have a sealing washer/gasket on it
The plug if I remember right should have teflon or the teflon paste on it, if it doesnt have a sealing washer/gasket

What is the small star-wrench plug near cylinder 8 (image below)?
It's a small star-wrench plug. That's the same hole that the temp sensor would be in if that head happened to be installed onto the other side of the engine. It's not a "block" temp sensor, since it's not in the block to begin with; it's a HEAD temp sensor. LS7 is absolutely correct, it should have some form of sealer on the threads, just like the temp sensor should. Since as far as water trying to leeeeeek out is concerned, it's exactly the same thing. A sealing washer might work, if you could find on the right size, butt it seems to have too little of a flange for that; I usually use the Permatex/Loctite "hi-temp automotive thread sealer with PTFE" on those. Seems like the factory used that red dope on that, and on some other similar things.

A good torque on things like that is in the 12 ft-lb kind of range. Tight enough butt not too tight. Very technical. There's probably a "spec", since what I just said isn't good enough for a factory setting, butt within a pretty wide range, it doesn't much matter as long as it doesn't leeeeeeeeeek, or fall out, or tear anything up. Common sense goes a long way here.

Appears to be 15 ft/lbs for the plug.. but didn't look further about the sensor:

I just did mine. Some teflon stuff on the threads and the copper gasket i comes with. I would just snug it, the sensor does not have the same strength as the steel bolt on other side of engine.
