Default Head clearance for aggressive camshaft

Hey this is my first post and first Ls build. I went with 6.2l and I bought this cam for cheap it’s Texas Speed Bald Eagle Cam.
The specs are:
  • 243/247: Intake and exhaust duration in degrees.
  • .629/.629: Intake and exhaust valve lift in inches.
  • 114 LSA: Lobe separation angle in degrees.

  • It’s for cathedral port heads. I’m mostly concerned about clearance. What heads would you guys recommend for me I’m open to stock or aftermarket options. Thank you.

Piston to valve clearance will be your issue with that cam, its huge.

I would run rec port heads and a smaller cam unless your wanting to fly cut the pistons... thats a ton of cam for a 6.2

If you're open to aftermarket heads always go aftermarket heads, lol. Hit the "Tony Mamo Easy Button" and spread out your wallet. Trying to pick heads for a cam is going about it backwards imo.

243/247 is too big for the street. Something between 227-232 intake duration is a good range for a street car.

You can expect Piston to Valve Issues with that Big Cam regardless of Heads. It was probably Cheap cause Seller realized it was too big himself.

Are those .050 specs, or .006 specs?
