Default Block identification

Can anyone tell what the character I put in the square is? I believe it's only supposed to be 1 single character, as that is the last 8 of the vin and the other 7 characters are perfectly legible. Also, is there any way to make the casting number more clear?

That looks like "T7". It is not a single character

Being aluminum, probably L33.

The "T7" # is probably the last 9 of the VIN of the truck that was originally wrapped around it. More likely it's "17" as that would put the truck as having been built in the Oshawa Ontario assy plant

Yeah, with that dot matrix stamping method it's hard to tell. It COULD be "17" upon further inspection.....

Looks like a "T7" to me, not a "17". Look at the first 2 of the last 3 characters, the "1" is stamped differently.

It's "17". The 1st character matches the "1" elsewhere in the VIN. Doesn't have the right-hand have of the cross stroke that would make it a "T". No "T" truck assy plant in those years but there was a "1" plant.
