I wash out the breather with brake clean and compressed air about once a month ...

After much thought and agonizing, I am going to go with this:

Oil fill cap with an integral PCV-->-6an line to a tee fitting
LS6 valley cover PCV--> -6an line to the same tee
Tee fitting-10 an line to catch can with a breather cap in the top of it
Catch can -6an to Intake Manifold to provide slight vacuum.

Any opinions on how this will work??

I drilled my cap and inserted a rubber grommet.

Rubber grommet is GM 10198949.

PCV fits snug in rubber grommet; fuel hose fits over end of PCV.

To drill cap, I used a 3/4" woodborer and started on underside of cap;
insert grommet and test fit PCV...
if PCV won't go, remove grommet and lightly file hole;
repeat until PCV fits snug.

The line to the intake can be small because you only need ~1/8" bleed to keep from huffing.
If you have a vent on the breather cap and one on the can the one on cap will likely huff.

Probably not but not sure you need it if you use one of the Oval Craft type cans.

post revival...

I have a amw catch can. IT has a filter built into the cover peice with a hole in the top of the cover and one hole in the side of the can. It works like a cylinder inside a cylinder The direction of flow is supposed to be in from top out the side to the intake. The hole in the side in bigger than the top hole. I have billet valve covers. They have a vent hole already tapped in the passenger side cover and uses a 3/8's id fuel line to connect to the tb. I get oil on my intake blade most likely from this vent line. Right now I pulled it off the TB and am running a sock over it til I figure this out, I dont want oil going into the fast 90 or on the tb blade.

My thought is this. Reverse the lines and run the vent line from the valve cover to the side of the catch. I have a $45 billet oil cap and am not in a hurry to drill and tap it. The valve cover is drilled and tapped. Cap the valley pan line, get rid of the pcv, and run a t on top of the catch can and run a small line from the T to the intake and put a breather on top of the tee. The intake line is for vacuum right? so if it draws from right under the breather on the t it shouldnt suck oil right? Even thought the flow is being reversed in the catch can?

You really want an open breather with just enough vacuum (very restricted line) to intake so as to prevent huffing. The line to the intake can have a PCV check valve in it if you have one, so that when the can is pressurized under deceleration oil is not forced back.
The line from the valve cover should be as large as possible to keep velocity low.

I can take the filter element out of the can, its a brillo pad, and then it will be almost completly open except for the cylinder inside a cylinder effect but the botton is open on the inside cylider. I'm a little confused. Whats the direction of flow for the line to manifiold?
