i also vote turbo. just get lower compression pistons for the ls1, so you can run more than 7 psi.

it doesn't matter which way you go, you will be limited on hp because of the bottom end.
turbo is the better upgrade if the bottom end is forged.

I would have to disagree I am acually in the process of removing a forged 408 and T80 turbo system and going too a forged 427 LS7 with a 150 shot.

I wish it was that I had money to burn but the truth of the matter is yeah it was fast yeah it was fun. But after 3 sets of burned spark plug wires and thats using the best wires, (wrapping the headers twice, and then using the best wire protectors they make!) Then always got to be checking something meth, tune, oil, headgaskets, spark plugs. Heck car acts different if the temp changes a degree, the PTS kit canstantly needing adjustment so it either would not hit my steering arm or would not have an exhaust leak. Man I just got sick of always doing something to my car. I have done it all 346 with all bolt ons, 346 bolt ons and N2O, 346 P1sc, then D1sc, 408 D1sc, 408 F1a and 408 with a big turbo, and to tell ya the truth the best times I had were with the NA motor and the N2O motor not because they were faster but because they didnt require a daily tuning and checking session, gets old fast. I will still make lots of power with the 427 and then have a little juice if needed.

Damn... I'd call that the voice of experience.

I don't run a lot of nitrous, but when I want to run it, it's kind of a PITA the get the bottle filled, pay the $, get the bottle to temperature, install it, and then get into the proper RPM range, hit the switch, and floor it.

Turbos are always there (which is both good and bad). Personally, I've had an obsession with turbos since I first heard a Blow Off Valve. I will try to go turbo someday, but Nitrous is a nice stepping stone in the meanwhile.

How was the maintainence on your blower setups? How did the "fun factor" of the blower setups compare to the nitrous setups? Thanks!

bandit.. I totally agree with you..

I don't want to say I hate my GN, but I hate everything you said about the turbo motor. I'm having a ton of fun in my heads/cam/intake 346.. I can beat on it all day and it takes it like a champ. Next season it's getting forged and a 200 shot. I've been lightening it up in the meantime.. just want to see how fast a budget 346 can go on a small shot!

Yeah thats what I love about my na setups no big things to worry about but it was a learning experience.

The blower setups were alot less complicated and I did like them alot but again dont like always being worried about detonation haha. I do like them but want the fun simplicity of na back lol
