difference in ls2 intake over ls7 intake?
difference in ls2 intake over ls7 intake? maybe this has been answered but i searched and found nothing..if the ls7 and ls2 intakes are both 90mm intakes then what is really the difference? is it just because of the difference in the heads? im building a motor for FI and dont want to go with carb style intake and i have a FAST 90 which i dont want to risk of blowing it out and then not beign able to sell it for some money back so im deciding on ls2 top end or ls7
LS2/7 Intake Comparison The LS2 intake fits only cathedral-port heads, is much smaller in volume, has LS1/6-type runners. Since the only thing you gain with an LS2 intake is a larger throttle body, if you're using this type head, I'd use an LS6 or a FAST intake.
The LS7 intake fits only the LS7 heads (rectangular port, different bolt pattern) and has very different runner length, volume and shape from the LS1/2/6 intakes. The Catch-22 here is the head cost $$$$!
Have you looked at an L92 head/L76 intake combo? It would be hard to beat in the bang-per-buck category. The large chambers would be compatible with FI setups.
