At that power level I would go LSX. Your only going to want more anyhow. The only disadvantage with the LSX is that it requires more money up front to have the reliability/longivity/upgrade options in your back pocket. Also heavier.
I personally would go L92. I like aluminum blocks and don't need 800hp on tap to kill myself with.

What he said^. If you want big horse easiest way is to stroke it and then add your blower. Just do a LIGHT line honing of the L92 block to true up the cylinder walls. This will way you can maximize your wall thickness. Ls2 blocks are pushing over 1000 horse and the L92's are even stronger. You'll probably be fine.
Why do you want 800 horse? Unless its a drag car you won't need that much. A little of info on your background might help us guide you as well

What are you going to do the most of with the car? Street or strip? If it's going to driven hard on the road a lot, I say LSX. If you're going to be more conservative on the street with most of your hard driving on the strip, or doing autocross, I say L92.
Personally, I'm building a street car that will see occassional strip use with a NA goal of 650 rwhp and adding a 300 shot. Because of the desire for large nitrous shots, I'm building an LSX. You can't beat the reliability of it, and I don't care about weight. I'll take the small hit on my E.T. to ensure I can keep running it over and over for years.

i want a street car with some track use. but a hell of a lot of street races. lol
so i thnk i might go with the lq9. but i don't know. cuase i think with all the right internals the ls3/l92 will hold 1000 horse just fine.

iron is better, more durable, doesnt distort. This means longer life for the engine.. Its also cheaper. This is the prefered block if your going to boost. Iron also does something with the heat in the cylinder. I'll butcher this but its heat retention which help to maintain power. I've seen it explained, I cant explain the physics behind it but it was worth 15 hp.
