question about building ls7
question about building ls7 Hey guys im going to be building an ls7 for a project that i have ,and i have a few questions considering this will be the first time im building an ls based engine, and i figured this was the best place to ask them so here we go. i want to make about 550 horsepower.
1. Can i use a iron 6.0 block.
2.Can i use a factory ls7 crankshaft in the 6.0 block.
3.Can i use a th400 or do i have to use and 4l60e or similar
4.Can a 6.0 block take a 6.125 rod.

1.the new lsx block would be your best choice
2. don't know, but I would run a forged crank

thanks for the respense That definantly answers my questions the motor is going into a 70 chevrolet truck and is has full air ride suspension and built 12 bolt so i think the rear should hold up thanks for being the only one to answer my questions.
thats an option i have checked into the 4l80e but i already have a built turbo 400 that i had left over so i am still kinda up in the air on that but im considering it for sure just for the drivability.thanks again
