Default cant decide...ported 243's or L92's

So ive been doing alot of reading in the past few months about different head/intake manifold options and at this point i've narrowed it down to 2 options. the car is an LS2 6 speed GTO with 1 3/4 SLP headers, and a 231/234 .613 .598 112+1 cam. im Looking for at least 475 ( i know its just a number but ive seen so many heads cam cars come up short on power that dont perform at the track it makes me sick.) im not looking for a dyno queen so under the curve numbers have to be pretty strong, but im willing to give up some under the curve numbers for a "budget head". AFR's and ETP and the like are kinda out of my price range at well over 2k. As of right now the car is my daily driver...but im also looking into a beater car...id still be driving it on the street, so i wouldnt want an all out drag setup. I was thinking more along the lines of a ported 243 casting with a fast 90 (i figure at least $3300 for the whole kit and kabootle) figuring 2K (lets use livernois stage 3R's for pricing purposes) for the heads and 1300 for a ported fast. I havnt seen many guys go with a setup quite like this so im not sure what the powerband will look like...hopefully one of our resident head guru's will help me out!

My other option is an L92/L76 setup. I realise the drawbacks to an L92/L76 setup pretty much lie in the L76 intake manifold. Also im worried about my cam not matching up with the L92's. My thoughts though on the L92's are that even though i might be giving up some RPM (since the intake pretty much dies off around 6300) the torque curves ive seen from these heads/intake are pretty awesome even with smaller cams. Also i could probably assemble the entire package (decked for stock compression) for under 3k which would be a bit cheaper than the 243 castings with the fast. Then theres the ported L92 option, but i really dont think with stock cubes and my mild cam, i could even do those heads justice...lol they seem to flow some big numbers and i think i'd loose power where i need it most.

Anyways ive been tossing this around in my head for months now, ive read GM high tech but nothing ive read really compares these 2 setups. i realise in any case im probably going to have to upgrade the LS7 clutch to something a bit more stout, but thats expected. so if anyone could offer some insight id greatly appreciate it!!!

If you look under dyno on this forum & Rick at Synergy has a L92/cam combo that makes power from down low & peaks at a little over 6,000 rpm. He used stage 2 L92 heads with his cam on a stock LS2 block & got 480 whp with about 470 lbs to the wheels. That is crazy torque & hp for a stock block LS2. That is the way I am going for sure. It also has about 400 lbs at 3,000 rpm with mild lifts so a vary street friendly grind he has come up with. Check it out.

i think you should get the trick flow 515hp kit at summit its 3100 bucks but it comes with everything. and that 515hp is on the ls1 not the ls2 so you might get a few more ft/lbs and ponies. but get this.... that power is made as cast with 215cc intake runners so your torque should be over 450 from almost idle to 6000
