Default FAST 90mm Intakes - DISCONTINUED

There have been a few posts concerning this so I thought I'd post up. We recieved an email from our FAST rep. yesterday updating us that the FAST 90mm intake (part #54003) has been discontinued and replaced with the FAST 92mm intake (part # 54039). I just got off the phone with FAST confirming that the 90mm intakes have indeed been discontinued and are no longer available. Hopefully we all find that bigger is better!

Huh. Well, I already have mine, but that is weird. Whatever, Funny strategy. But why would you discontinue the best intake on the market? Its got a huge following, and now they dont want to keep it? They should have gotten rid of the 78mm version.

I just ordered a Fast/92 b/c they discontinued the 90 and the guys at Fast told me that besides the intake opening and some other small perks (stainless hardware and different material) the 92 and 90 are the same intake.

Can the opening of a Fast 90 be ported to accept the new 92mm TB? I need a new TB for my ported Fast 90 and I would just assume go with the 92mm TB if it can be made to work.

Monopoly on the intake market. They can do what ever they want.

Well since the FAST 92 is just a FAST 90 with some upgrades and the logical progression would be phasing out the old 90mm... Nothing at all shocking there.

How do you figure that it is going to start going backwards? Motors are just going to get bigger from here into forever as far as performance goes.

I think he meant that as a joke as a 2mm upgrade to the other FAST intake that never gets any press time... The FAST 78mm intake...

Yes it can. I was told that LG and some other companies are putting 100mm TB's on the fast 90. They are porting the hell out of the opening.

Meh...I bet there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the 90 and the 92 stock for stock. My guess is MAYBE 1-2 more hp. I would like to be proven wrong though.

IMHO, instead of creating the 92 and getting rid of the 90 they should have created a 100mm intake and keep the 90. That would have gotten peoples attention and made me break out my check book again.

What they need to make is a 100mm intake for the new raised port heads so that I can make the switch.

LOL They didnt CREATE an intake. They put different hardware in the box and opened up the front hole with some other very minor stuff... The FAST 92 on display at PRI... was a FAST 90, with a FAST 92 logo on it. Thats all people, not a new superwhizbang doodad - simple progression
