Default bought an ls2 water pump w/ no t-stat housing.. what do i do?

ive been searching everywhere trying to find the ls2 waterpump thermostat housing. it seems like no one makes them as a replacement part

what is there to do? my ls1 t-stat wont fit inside the ls2 pump because of its "shoulders" that hold the thermostat in place(aftermarket).......... lol should i just cut the 'shoulders' off(along with the piece on the inside that use to support the t-stat)?????

btw i have an ls2 thermostat soo ive been looking at everything and its seems it MIGHT work, but idk

The housing is the same part number for the LS1, LS2, LQ4, LQ9, LS3, L76, LS7

12600172 (list price $44.25), it includes the housing, seal and thermostat. Your old one should work.
