Exclamation HELP LS7 lifters do not fit in LS7 block

I have the lifter 17122490 and they will not fit in my LS7 block. I tried them in a LS1 block and the fit right in. They guy I bought the block from was running morel lifters. Are they smaller in diameter?

Not sure the part number on the block. It is at the machine shop. Are solid lifters smaller in diameter? A solid roller lifter will drop right in. Got the short block assembled and may have to take it back apart to get lifter bores honed.

Something is obviously not right, call the shop and get the part number, things need to be verified to find out what is wrong.

I watched them run a bore gauge into the hole and it is def out of round. Is this common on these aluminum blocks?

i do not know and would not say its common-

but in alloy stuff-things move around and expand more then a cast iron for arguement sake-

doubt u good pick it by eye-

what did the builder have to say if he said it was out of round?

He ended up tearing it back down and running a handheld sunnin hone through the bores. Problem solved. It would not have been that big of deal had it been caught before the engine was assembled. Still it seemed strange. This block was only used for five hundred miles before I bought it. The clearance was there but the hole was not straight almost like it was S shaped.
