Default LQ9 vs. LQ4- Block Only

Hey guys,
Used search, came up with a lot of good information. Just want to make sure the LQ9 and the LQ4 are the same exact BLOCK. Not talking about the pistons, heads, or compression between the two. Just need a 6.0L Iron Block. Are these exactly the same when talking about just the block?
Thanks,
Matt

the difference in years has to do with the head bolts.

Very nice to see the LQ4/9 block revealing itself to be a reliable substitution for the LS1 in all type's of application's.

The blocks are all the same. Both have the same 317 heads (99-00 LQ4 had iron heads and a longer crank to accomodate the 4l80e). LQ9 has beefier con rods and flat top pistons for 10.1:1 compression to the 9:4:1 of the LQ4. In 2005, both the LQ9 and LQ4 got the same con rods as the LS2. So, speaking on value, the ideal is to get an 05+ LQ4 since it has the stronger internals but is generally at least $500 cheaper than an LQ9.

This is all true. But hes asking block only. Could also get into longer crank, but wont matter cause its block only.
