What do LS2 and 6.0 Iron Block's cost? Im looking to put something together so I can run my car for a year or two untill I go all out and build a big cube 6 bolt motor. I can either use my LS1 block I have now or go with and LS2 or Iron block. What do they cost? What do you think? Also This is a drag car, nitrous motor, solid roller etc. Also what would I need to change as far as cover/wiring etc. for one of these blocks to work? Thanks.

Well, it would seem silly to build a motor, knowing that you are going to build ANOTHER motor in a year or so. I would build on what you have already, and then start saving for teh killer build.
Take your LS1, trash the rods and pistons, and drop in a set of forged rods/pistons. Add cam, intake. clean up your heads and go have some fun. Now, if you are a power adder guy, build around that. Lower compression if you are gonna runa blower/turbo or stay in the 10-11:1 range if your gonna spray it. I mean, I see no point in going overboard if your gonna build a 6 bolt motor later on. But, that's jsut me
I know you said nitrous motor, but were talking about your CURRENT motor, or the motor you WANT to build?????
I would go with a 6.0 iron block. They can be had for cheap. I bought a complete long block for $500 a year back. You could throw on some LS6 heads, LS6 intake, with a decent 23x/23x cam. Then in a year or two, bore and stroke it out to a 408 and you can either stuff a HUGE cam in it or strap on a supercharger and make some serious HP.
