Need help on the real price 408 block! PLEASE!!!
Some other stuff that is required would be ls2 conversion kit, proper valve train (lifters, trays, pushrods, etc...).
Which crankshaft are you going to use? What studs? Timing Chain? Oil Pump?
Are you going to install it all or get a shop to do it?
Man, there is NO way to get a REAl cost. Just when you think you have it, it ends up costing more. ALWAYS DOES!! What year block do you have (the 408?) If it is still teh 24 tooth, everything from your LS1 will work/interchangeable.
What are you looking to bring over to the new motor from your LS1? Are you wanting to put in new heads/cam or are you wanting to carry your existing combo over? All of your covers, oil pan, intake, valve covers, etc. will all carry over.
Why are you looking for an LS2 conversion kit? Is the block iron or aluminum and what year is it?
Give us some more info. on what you are wanting to do and we'll get you fixed up with everything you need!
Thanks!
Jon
Yes. You can swap the covers and heads, intake right over its a direct swap. You'll need some gaskets obviously but it will accept all your LS1 "stuff" You'll probably want injectors and add the cost of a tune in there and maybe a cam to go with it too To maximize the 408 you'll want different heads and intake and maybe some 1 7/8 headers as well in the future.
