500+ ci LSx
Being one off parts for 800+ci engines answers that question.
To answer your question though:
Comparing a 632" BBC to this 802" monster, is no comparison really. They are two COMPLETELY different engines, and nothing will interchange. The damn deck height on teh 802" is ALMOST 12"!! It comes in at a whopping 11.985. The bore spacing is 5" (the 892 CI motor uses a 5.30 bore spacing block) Pushrods are 1/2" dia. The list goes on. Basically everything on this motor, aside from a few parts, gets whittled out on an inhouse CNC machine.
Now, don't get me wrong, that type of $$$ is high, and when you can get, as you said, a motor that makes ALMOST as much power for alot less, I would definitely look into it. However, if you could see a pic of that "little" 632"
next to the 802", it comes down to "look at mine" Think about it......do you REALLY need 1400 HP on the street???
And I am with all of you guys as well. IF, I could afford that motor, and that is a pretty big IF, I would love to have it as well. Cuz even though we don't NEED 1400 HP on teh street, it sure would be

But as that pic shows (thanks Zac), look at the difference in the motors....it is like a midget motor next to that Mountain motor!!
And damn....1,400 hp + a 250 shot....FUN!!!!

The 802 CI motor did not make 1100, it made 1417 HP. Why would they want it?? TORQUE!!! And gobs of it. And again, comparing the 632 to the 802 is not a fair comparison. I have NOT looked at teh 632, but what I CAN tell you is the 802 CI motor is gonna make more HP/Torque throughout the RPM range, apples to apples. You show me the tech sheet on that 632, and we will compare it to the 802....cam, compression, etc....and see how it comes out then.
I was wondering why anyone would want the 60K engine when the 632ci makes more power, for $24,000.
But jeezuz.....1,417 hp N/A....holy mother of pearl would that be fun to whip out on a 1,100 hp turbo Supra out on the highway.

edit: the 762ci 1,150 hp, 60K, thats the one I was confusing with the 800ci.

OK, now we are making more sense here. And that is why I was trying to get specifics out, so we could apples to apples it.
yeah, 1417 HP, NA!!! I have not mentioned his 2,072 HP, NA motor yet, did I? Yeah, let me say that again, 2,072 fawkin HP, NATURALLY ASPIRATED. It makes 1,444 LB-ft NA
That one comes in at a SMALL 892 CI, haha! yeah, 1417 HP, NA!!! I have not mentioned his 2,072 HP, NA motor yet, did I? Yeah, let me say that again, 2,072 fawkin HP, NATURALLY ASPIRATED. It makes 1,444 LB-ft NA
That one comes in at a SMALL 892 CI, haha! But the 632 and that 762 could actually be pout into a street car, I know that 632 can quite easily, maybe that 762 needs an old school big type of muscle car to fit it in.
But for drag racing purposes only....why would anyone want to pay 60K for that 762 that makes less power than that 632. Is there something unique to it that makes it better for drag racing, even with a little less power. I mean its got to be something pretty advantages because it costs $35,000 more than the 632.

Sonny's also has a 932ci. mill on the 5.3in bore spacing block
5.080 bore x 5.750 stroke
2140hp @ 8100RPM
1475lbft @ 6500rpm
However this is not Pump gas friendly ringing in at 16.0:1 cp.
It's also aluminum rods, so no go on the street : (
Still cool though, almost a 1000ci.

The funny thing is you could take a photo of this 932 aluminum rod/piston, scale it to the same size as a 427 LS aluminum rod/piston, and it will look much the same. So is this motor!!! The 802CI one is run on 89 OCTANE, and is going into a *****'s coupe, FOR THE STREET!!!
The car made more like 550 - 560ish to the wheels through a powerglide and a non-locking converter. Also, once the gearing and tranny issues are worked out, it should run 9's on motor pretty easy since its already trapping around 140mph. As for a nitrous run.... should be pretty nasty
