Stang's Bane, are you sure this motor blew up, or are you bumping up a thread from Feb to stir up issues with TSP?

Just got off the phone with Blake, the motor is still running great. Please stay out of our threads if you have nothing to contribute. No need to bump a thread from 6 months ago.

Thanks!
Jon

Jon, what kind of numbers did it put down? He should be happy with that set-up. I am running one similar.

With enough overlap you can run that kind of compression.

I read a thread where the OP said he was putting down ~620RWHP and getting 24MPG.

He does have numbers, Im sitting next to his Punk ***! He Just got a new tranny, then he's going to get some more accurate numbers. The whole 427 trying to push through a STOCK t-56 just wasn't working out. Who would have ever seen that coming? But it defiantly didn't blow up, I have a few videos of his build, and him putting the beat down on some Florida cars that I've been working on. It's a nasty setup, all I can say is thank god he's my friend with a car like that.

Rough Idea on numbers? I'm trying to decide who to trust with my 440 build and what top end to go with.

go to hear.

mind posting up some of those videos? lol
love to check them out!

reason for me asking about the overlap is that my new cam has a lot of overlap and i will be doing my own tuning. so, i wanted to know it is doable to make it "smooth" throughout. thanks!

The cam has about 24 degrees of overlap to keep the dcr down, the car has a rough idle but, drives like a dream. I did most of the tuning myself, with some help from jason at tsp.

The numbers were very close to 600 down here in florida, with a fairly conservative tune. Ive had speed inc and another company which asked not to be named build motors for me and i ended up tearing them down and rebuilding myself. The guys at TSP know their stuff, MyWs6 got his stuff from them and a lot of friends are extremely happy with their builds from TSP. Call up Jon Reynolds and just see what you guys can come up with.

The old 402 ended up spinning 2 main bearings in the bottom end and one of the intake valve springs broke and cracked one of the pistons. THat motor was bad luck since the day it came out of the crate, i had nothing but problems with that one, but thats what you get from speedinc when they dont keep their word.
