If you are converting an Active Fuel Management (AFM) L92 you will need to do more then just change the front cover.

You will need to change out the lifters, plug the AFM oil feeds (center section of the block under the manifold) and swap out to a LS2 or Ported LS6 oil pump. The L92 oil pump puts out a lot of pressure due to the AFM lifters, this oil pump is NOT recommended for NON AFM engines.

Now cam choice for a daily driver on stock cubes LG's G6XE to G6X3 line comes to mind (4 cam sizes starting from Mild and going up).

LG's been working with L92 heads on 6.0L and 6.2L since the L76 manifold and L92 heads became available (as far as I can remember).

The G6X4 is probably at the hairs edge of daily drive ability and probably pretty hard to tune for an automatic.

Now LG mainly did there testing in C6 Corvette's but the power and torque they get out of the G6X- line is nothing to be looked down upon. They are a sponsor and if you call them they could probably give you a complete list of what you will need.

I wouldn't recommend the stock LS7 cam as the lift will not be as high with the L92's 1.7" rocker arms (LS7's have a 1.8" rocker arm length). If you go with a Stock LS7 cam shaft you should pair it with a set of 1.85" L92/LS3 rocker arms to get the lift that the cam was designed for. Yellow Terra and SLP offer shaft mounted 1.85" LS3/L92's rocker arms.

Keep it small IMO. The intake ports work very well. A little extra duration on the split won't hurt but it's not the end of the world.

A little 212/218 will give great drivability and pull past 6200 RPM with a LS3 spring.

There are cams that will make 10 to 15 more horsepower but a small cam will easy on parts and fun to drive.

I went custom ground and it was good,517 hp 468tq. 242/248 was the cam size. I then switched to the LG Motorsport G6X3 cam and made a nice power gain with a smaller cam. With old cam I could out pull my buds camaro by 1/2 car from 60 to 120mph. we both have m6,4.11's and stock size tires. With the LG can I then pull him 1.5 cars from the same speeds and I have not tuned the lg cam yet. runs great, drives around town great and sounds tough.

There are a few L92 head builds here. Some good, most not so good. Do your research and listen to people who have successfully cammed these heads. There are a lot of "experts" here that really don't know what they're talking about.

Word!
