Heard Katech had some recent layoffs and may be in trouble due to GM's financial trouble?

Well, if Chevrolet goes, then Katech won't be able to build the engines for the Le Mans C6.R's...

It's interesting to me that the top 3 picked are based in Texas. I suspect many of those that voted are in Texas.

After a ton of research and decision making I decided on Va Speed. I ordered a 416 from them earlier this week.

That's why they make crate engines, so you don't have to wait. Either way you go there are pro's and cons.
Trust me waiting is much better in the end. Geez, it took me a year to get one engine done from a builder locally. Granted that was too long but well worth every bit of time invested.
Just don't rush into anything, you will regret it later.

HKE or LME gets my vote. There is one on that list I would not take a free motor from. Remember guys you get what you pay for. Also, make sure the company you are purchasing from is actually building their own stuff. I am speaking from experience here.

If it was a free motor... You take it and sell it, but I see your point.

No, I would not even do that because I would be screwing someone else over and that would not be cool.

No, it's more that I chose not to wait 6 months for an engine. That is ridiculous. I know the builder needs to be good and meticulous. But it's not rocket science. Any one good builder can do it. Hell if I knew the specs and had the machines I'd do it myself.
