Default Lunati or Eagle Crankshaft?

I know peeps would say Lunati, But whats the main difference between the two? I can pick up a Lunati Crankshaft for 1200 used for 1200 or I can get Full rotating assembly fith an eagle crank, eagle rods, JE pistons, ARP main bolts, ARP Rod bolts, piston rings, main bearings and rod bearings for 1500 shipped all brand new. Help me make a decision.

There is nothing wrong with Eagle, until you compare them side by side. Then you can see why Lunati has the reputation for excellence.

What kind of power are you going for?

Less than 700 RWHP. Stay with the stock crank and just buy the other forged stuff and save even more money.

More than 700 RWHP, think about a forged crank.

Compstar or Lunati

Flame away, but I've heard about too many Eagle cranks breaking (mostly big blocks).

For 750rwhp why not go with 377ci. and stay with a stock crank??
Just buy a set of h-beam rods and forged pistons.

Eagle, if that is the price balanced. Sometimes it's better to wait until you can afford to go overkill, but it sounds like you are budget minded..

As mentioned, the stock crank is pretty dam strong.

Is it possible to have the stock crank lightened? How much would something like that cost?

I dont think the eagle would be bad but you need to have the bearing surfaces checked. I was told the edges are rounded and need to be cleaned up before they eat your bearings.

Thats a good deal and all but personally id go with a compstar in that price range.
