ls1 vs ls7 map sensor
ls1 vs ls7 map sensor ok i picked up one of my copies of gmhtp the other day and i noticed an article where they swapped a gen IV crate motor in a 2001 z28. They didn't use the the map sensor on the front of the intake, instead they used the vacuum port on the rear of the intake. My question is if the computer is getting a full overhaul tune anyways, cant i use the map sensor at the front of the intake and just adjust the values??

ok, so the census here is that its the same MAP sensor, i mean it does have the same part# on it, but it is in a different location so the values it will read will be different than if it were located in the back of the intake? Just trying to figure out why GMHTP would go through all the trouble to put another sensor on the rear of the intake when you have a perfectly good one on the front.

Verdad Gallardo do like i did this: get an ls3 map sensor and pigtail from the dealer, you can get a 5mm bolt from lowes or home depot to hold it down. the only difference in the wiring is for the outer wires, they just swap around and the center one stays put.
