Heads question.... What is the HP difference between ported and polished stock heads vs. ported and polished 5.3 truck heads? You can fit the 5.3L truck heads on the 99 Z28s right?
Are you talking stock LS1 heads vs. 5.3? You do know there are different heads available, right?
yes, you can fit teh 5.3 heads on your LS1.
There are so many possible scenario's that it is almost impossible to answer your question without more specifics.....
I mean, if you took a set of 243's and compared them to a set of 706's, ported vs. ported...are you gonna make more HP? Probaly. How much? Marginal. Worth it? Probaly not. All depends on what you want to spend, and what you want to do.
Yes i am well aware that there are differnt heads for the LS1. i just dont want to spend like $1500-2000 on a set of heads. i want the best heas for my set up: built/forged 347 w/MS3 cam, LS6 intake manifold, P&P TB and MTI clear lid. Kooks exhaust 1 7/8" x 3" headers, 3" y-pipe, and borla stingers.
