Default Stock LQ4 Cam options?

I am a noob here but just spent hours searching with no luck.

I am dropping an LQ4 into a 1994 F body and would like to give the engine a little bit of kick before install.

The LQ4 is out of a 2002 2500HD.

What Camshafts net the most RWHP? I was considering using a GM Hotcam but i'm sure there are much better options out there.

I dont care if I need to install springs too. I've pretty much figured that i'd have to do springs too.

What cam wakes up the LQ4 best?

Thank You

For the most RWHP, the sky is the limit.

For my 6.0 LQ4, which is in a truck, I speced out a 210/218 112 +2. This cam provides the max area under the curve, a nice bump in HP, and is small enough that O2 sensors keep working. I think there was an article written in Hot Rod a couple years back where they tested a few different cams in a 6.0 L truck engine. Here is a link.

That article is pretty good. It's kinda funny but that article really says to me that I want the GMPP Hotcam 12480033. This is the second time that this cam has come up as a good cam to me.

The other cam that really shined to me was the crane 144HR00118

Anyone have either of these cams in a virtually stock LQ4 / 9

I just put an Lq4 in my 86 camaro and used the Comp Cams XR275HR (222/224 - .566/.568 w 1.7 rocker - 112 LSA) with a set of LS6 springs. I am running a carburated intake, 1 3/4 headers, through a 700r4 and a 9 inch rearend. I just took it to the dyno and it made 350 hp @ 5500 rpm through flowmaster exhaust and 366 with open exhaust. Peak torque was about 425 @ 3000 rpm for both. This car sees a lot of street time and i have been nothin but happy with this setup. I also went with this setup becuase i could use the LS6 springs that are a little more affordable than some of the aftermarket ones. Hope this helps. good luck.
