I just bought a new 6.0 and I bore scoped it to see what the pistons looked like (dished or not) and they look flat with a slight ridge but also are fly cut.. is this a LQ9?

Default More LQ-4 information

The rods are no stronger--they are still powdered metal, just full floater. Almost any LS part that will work on an LS1 will work on them. They are NOT akin to the LS2 except that they displace the same thing, and that is about where it ends. You are talking two completely different generations of powerplants. Either one makes a suitable place to start from though.
What up. I've been reading up on this thread and I still have to ask, how would a 2004 LQ-4 motor out of a 2500 Chevy do in a 99 Camaro SS, with a t-56 and a front mount 76mm turbo? I'm going tomorrow and purchase this motor tomorrow for my car. Also, anyone have any idea how horsepower can the motor handle stock or with yalls' suggestions?

Are talking model year or casting date?

I ask because I have a 2005 model year 6.0 long block, but the casting number is Oct 2004.

I am pretty sure its a LQ4, but can't confirm its not a LQ9 either since I don't know what it came out of.

Thanks!!
